SOFIA RAMIREZ

Filipina. Leads the Arc of Resilience.

Sofia helps communities , investors, and governments build what will last.

Her work has always been at the intersection of climate, community and capital. She began at Oxfam International, running community-based disaster risk reduction programs in the Philippines. She then spent three years at the UN Development Programme in Bangkok, helping design regional resilience frameworks across Southeast Asia. Later, as Country Director for Acumen Capital, she built an impact investment portfolio of off-grid solar and clean water projects serving undeserved communities across the archipelago.

Sofia grew up in Iloilo City, in a fishing family. Typhoon season was a regular feature of childhood—rebuilding, recovering, adapting. At 17, she spent a year as a UN volunteer in Timor-Leste, working on reforestation projects in the hills outside Dili. That experience shaped everything.
